Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck can gai kakhen afenyam. This country is so used to the chuckabilly past Presidents and clown politicians that it does not recognize the eloquence and grace, the intelligence, the genius of the man who now occupies the White House.
Day after day after day, that horrible Palin woman fills the crowds with passels of lies. She wins media coverage, but is noted more for being a freakish phenomenon than she is for being a reasonable United States politician. To date, the tea party comprises only 2% of Americans. People like Palin, Beck and the others claim to be "real Americans" and I guess they are, if you define "real American" as being racist and exclusive, ignorant and untruthful. I, however, have more pride in my country than to publicly (or privately) lie about my President. I stand by him. I don't think he is a saint. I don't believe he is the Messiah. I recognize Barack Obama as a strong leader who is getting a bad rap because people like Palin, whose family was supported for almost two decades by British Petroleum, are being paid millions to say what they are saying. It stands to reason that as Obama goes after the corruption, the corrupt are trying their best to ruin his reputation. Perhaps he is at fault for ignoring it all. Perhaps he should speak out in his own defense more often, but this man has more class than to rise to it. I hope my sons grow up to be like this man. He is a great role model for my sons and daughters.
